Red Lips Rule (again) at NYFW Fall 2012
The makeup trend that ruled the runways at NYFW Fall 2012 – RED LIPS!

Wait, weren’t Red Lips the trend that ruled NYFW Fall 2011? Is this deja vu???
No, it’s not deja vu …we’re just admitting what we’ve always known – NOTHING trumps a red lip when you want to make a statement.

For Zac Posen, Kabuki created a look he calls “geisha couture,” which was punctuated by “very glossy, lacquered red lips.”

At Michael Kors, Dick Page used red lipstick to create flushed beauties.  He used Shiseido Lacquer Rouge lipstick in Drama, a bright red, as a stain on the lips and as a blush, applying it in a chevron shape on the cheeks and extending it down towards the jawline.

At Marc Jacobs, Page continued his reign of red and wanted a “poster paint-type” lip. To achieve this flat matte finish he used a pure tomato red Shiseido lipstick base.

At Thakoon, Diane Kendal for Nars Cosmetics coated lips with a semimatte orange-red lipstick.

At Charlotte Ronsen, Sephora Pro lead artist Gilbert Soliz gave lips a coating of the brand’s Lip Attitude Glamour Lipstick in Red Flirt.

So which of these ravishing reds was your fave?
